Monday, July 15, Mountain Shadow – Stableford
Mountain shadow was the test today and after a swift check-in we were off the 10th tee 40 minutes early under partly cloudy skies with not much humidity and a good cooling breeze. The course was in fine condition with the greens cored last month now having fully recovered, while the other half were being done as we played.
We got around in 3 hours and 50 minutes as the course was empty in front of us all the way around.
Dave Richardson (H/cap 24) was the winner with a steady 37 points, ahead of Mike Winfield (22) in second on 29 points and Lasse Pettersson (30) third with just 25 points.
Thursday, July 18, Greenwood A & C – Stableford
Greenwood was the game today with the first group teeing off C1 25 minutes early under sunny skies and a nice breeze all day. The course was in fine condition except some of the greens which were a bit scratchy but still a lot of putts were made.
The course was empty ahead of us so we got around in a record 3 hours and 30 minutes. Back in the clubhouse welcomes went out to the Gottschalck family from Denmark; son Soren, mom Alice and dad Flemming, also welcomes to Peter Fagerlund, Petter Airikainen, Soren Lingkuirst and Kelle Nord Mark, all from Sweden.
The winner was Peter Fagerlund (17) on a count back from Mike Winfield (22) in second, both with 40 points. Lasse Pettersson (30) took third on another count back from Dave Richardson (24) as they both tied on 37 points each.
