Monday, July 15, Green Valley (white tees) – Stableford

1st Henry O’Brien (18) 40pts

2nd Grant Cadell (14) 39pts

T3rd Nigel Flanagan (13) 38pts

T3rd Mike Allidi (3) 38pts

Firstly let’s take our hats off to Phil Mickelson on a tremendous back nine to surge to the lead at Muirfield and claim the elusive major he has worked so hard on.  Philly, you deserved The Open title to add to your collection and we hope there are many more to come!

Now back to Pattaya and another strong turnout on Monday and it was nice to see some lads we haven’t seen in a while, and also a few visitors who joined in the fun.

Henry O’Brien, Nigel Flanagan & Mike Allidi back at TGC.Henry O’Brien, Nigel Flanagan & Mike Allidi back at TGC.

Mike Allidi is back at the bar and it was good to have one of the best golfers in Pattaya join us today.  Mike plays off 3, so he earns every point out there and today he shot well enough to score 38 points, which tied him for 3rd place.

The other 38 was from none other than Nigel Flanagan!  Hey Nige, what the heck got into you today?  This is one of the best rounds in awhile for the Flan Man and this rare podium appearance will probably go right to his head.  He is starting to relax here now that nobody is shooting at him like it was in Afghanistan.

The hero of Khao Yai, Grant “Man of the Mountain” Cadell changed his cowboy hat for a Titleist cap to strut out to the course and register a very respectable 39 points on the card.  When you shoot that well, you gotta be thinking you just might win this thing!  Such was not to be the case as that legendary Scottish golfer Henry O’Brien slipped in the side-door with a fantastic 40 to claim the day, so well played to ya Hank!

Wednesday, July 17, Bangpra (white tees) – Stableford

1st Max Scott (4) 36pts

2nd Terry Wagner (18) 35pts

3rd Bob Watson (2) 34pts

3rd John Pierrel (12) 34pts

The ‘Monkey Course’ was back on the TGC golf schedule and the lads were ready for a great test of their skills at one of the best courses in Pattaya.  You will never get a 42-point card turned in here… the greens are a killer so be prepared for a 3-putt or two.

John Pierrel, the travelling golfer, is back in town for the next 4 months so I would imagine you will be seeing his name on the leader-board several more times.  Today he tied for third with 34 points.  Bob Watson was the other 34-pointer to share the podium placing and it was good to see Bob join us again.

Stalwart Terry Wagner, fresh from his conquering of Kabinburi the previous week, continued his hot streak with a 35 point round, which is great for this course.

The honours for today must go to our old pal Max Scott who is a guy that knows the ins and outs of this wacky game.  His handicap equaling 36 was the best of the day and Captain Phil handed Max the ‘Handsome Man’ vouchers in his happy pack to enjoy a few adult beverages with.  Thanks for joining us for another great week of golf in the Kingdom!
