Cyclists with a green thumb will ride up to 70 kilometers and plant flowers at a Pattaya Press Association event in August.

The PPA, together with the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism, Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Khao Cheechan Foundation, Pattaya Cycling Club, Sunday Bike and Raceeg.net, will host the “Cycling to Plant Marigolds” ride Aug. 19 at the Buddha-engraved mountain near Silverlake vineyard.

In addition to trekking up to 70 kilometers, the cyclists will stop to plant marigolds and sunflowers that will bloom in October for HM the King’s cremation.

Along with the 70 km. ride there will also be shorter A and B races.  Registration fees range from 400 to 1000 baht.  All registrants will receive a shirt and winners will get trophies.
