Andy Featherstone.
Andy Featherstone.

We had a smaller group out here today at Green Valley as we had many cancellations due to the very heavy rain in the morning.  It was carts on the paths only and the course was wet and playing long but despite this we still had one great score.

The previous week Andy Featherstone said he felt his game was coming back and proved it at Burapha where he won.  Today he went even better and despite a three-putt on the last hole he went round in one over par gross and won by a clear seven points.  To make it an even better payday Andy also had the only ‘2’ of the day.

Craig Hitchens took the second place and we then had two players on thirty three points with Don Everett, playing his last game for this trip, taking third on count back over Kevin O’Sullivan.

Tuesday, Sept. 19, Mt. Shadow – Stableford

1st Andy Featherstone (6) 41pts

2nd Gus Guidetti (10) 36pts

3rd Craig Hitchens (15) 33pts

At Mountain Shadow we were joined by our friends from the PFGS and we had the course virtually to ourselves.  The course was in reasonable condition but some of the greens left a bit to be desired.

Today Andy Featherstone repeated his feat of Sunday and went round in one over par gross for 41 points and for his third win in a row.  Gus Guidetti has also been playing good golf on this trip and today he was second with thirty six while Craig Hitchens got the third and last place on the podium.

Gus Guidetti and Craig Robson shared the ‘2’s with one each.

Thursday, Sept. 21, Burapha – Stableford

1st Andy Featherstone (6) 37pts

2nd Joe Peters (22) 37pts

3rd John Fenwick (20) 36pts

4th Kevin Blake (7) 34pts

Andy Featherstone continued his excellent form again here today at Burapha where he won for the fourth tournament in a row, this time with thirty seven points and which included a ‘2’.

At one stage it looked like Joe Peters was going to be a run-away winner as he had 23 points on the front-nine but he let it slip a bit on the inward half and lost on count back to Andy.

John Fenwick returned an even-par round for third place and Kevin Blake took the fourth with 34, which included another ‘2’ and saw him share the pot with Andy and Joe Peters.
