Time for some new names and faces up on the podium as the cycle continues to flow for the lucky golfer who has a great day.  It has been quite some time since we had a real solid round and today Muffy Kerr had his turn at dreamland golf.  Muffy had one of those remarkable days that you can never plan and ended up with a big 44 circled at the top of his card!  Way to go buddy, that’s one heck of a round.

The oh so consistent Mashi Kaneta led the rest of the pack with 37 and handily beat out John Emmerson and ‘The Honolulu Kid’ Terry Wagner who tied on 36.

Thursday, July 4, Green Valley (white tees) – Stableford

T1st Tony Doyle & Micky Beresford (13.8) net 59.2

T1st Paul Hack & Barry Copestake (9.2) net 59.2

3rd Joe Mooneyham & John Emmerson (10.5) net 59.5

Time for the annual Golf Club 4th of July bash and this year it was decided that a 2-man scramble was in order.  Just to add to the fun, let’s make it a Rainbow Comp!  The teams of two had to decide which holes to play off 6 red tees, 6 white tees, and 6 blue tees.  This is harder than it sounds and there is a great deal of strategy involved, the choices are very important.

Our LK Metro neighbor Tony Doyle from The Drunken Duck had a last minute team up with Micky Beresford to shoot a team 59.2, what a great score!  There were two other guys who also had the same idea, and the match-up of Paul Hack and Barry “the boot” Copestake proved to be another winner as the two teams had a most unusual exact tie at 59.2.  That cost us 4 shirts instead of 2!

PSC golf chairman Joe Mooneyham had an All-American pairing with fellow ex-Army pal John Emmerson to get close…but no cigar!  They had a bit of a rough start with a bogey on the first hole after both missed a 4-footer for par.  Remember last year when Joe had a hole-in-one and was on the winning 4-man team with Bob Newell, Ernie Hill and Gavin Perfect and garnered the name “The Forty-Niners” due to their final score.

Near pins went to Ernie McInerney (4th), Peter Stonebridge (9th), Jimmy Brackett (12th), and the aforementioned John Emmerson (16th).  The winners will be feasting on a Porterhouse, RibEye or Filet Steak on our regular Steak Nights right off our Weber Grill.

Thanks to all who participated and joined us for our BBQ afterwards, it was a great day out!
