Sunday, Nov. 29, Green Valley – Stableford

A large group out today at Green Valley on what was a bit cooler day for golf, although it is still hot for this time of year.  Again we decided to have two flights and in A Flight Vincent Gras, who was on one of his usual three day trips to Thailand, was the winner with thirty eight points.  Frank McGowan was again steady today with thirty six and came second and Gus Guidetti came third with thirty four.  We then had two players on thirty three but Paul Pavloff lost the count back and John Dearden took the fourth place.

The scoring was much better in the B Flight and Ged Foy is in for a large reduction in his handicap as won with forty three points, a great score.  In second place was Dympna Burke with thirty nine and she has played very good golf so far on this trip, with her handicap also coming down rapidly.  Joe Peters also had another good day today and came third with thirty six points and Andy Galvin who is just back from Ireland for the winter had thirty three to come fourth.

Dympna Burke, Paul Hubbard and John Beshoff shared the ‘2’s with on each.

Ged Foy.

Thursday, Dec. 3, Burapha – Stableford

We didn’t have our usual Tuesday golf this week as we played at Pattana in the very successfully and well organized charity tournament run by The Haven in aid of the Ban Jing Jai Orphanage.

Mark Lang.

Today we were back at Burapha, which is another golf course which we don’t play often enough as it is a magnificent course and in great condition, having excellent fairways and beautiful fast greens.

I think as usual the greens here caught out most of our players as we had only one golfer who managed to beat his handicap.  Mark Lang was back with us today and he won the day with an excellent thirty seven points, which was a very good score off his low handicap.  The next best was Don Everett who came second two point back and in third place was John Fenwick with thirty two.

Don Everett got the only ‘2’ of the day.

1st Mark Lang (6) 37pts

2nd Don Everett (20) 35pts

3rd John Fenwick (20) 32pts
