Sunday, May 28, St. Andrews – Stableford

1st Steve Coghlan (42) 37pts

2nd Terry Dyer (19) 37pts

3rd Ian Brimble (8) 33pts

On another wet & soggy Sunday morning we struggled to get to St Andrews through all the traffic chaos caused by the Pattya Triathlon.

When we go there, 13 players and carts were confined to the cart paths and ‘lift, clean & place’ was the order of the day.  With not many on the course we played 2 x 4-balls and a 5-ball.

Today’s hero was Steve Coghlan who notched 37 points and just beat out Terry Dyer on count back (22pts to 20).  Ian Brimble claimed third place with 33.

The near pins were claimed by Fred Birch, Garry Emmett & Ian Brimble, while Fred also got the longest putt.

Monday, May 29, Pattavia – Stableford

1st Nigel Harrison (24) 36pts

2nd Colin Davis (19) 29pts

A small group today just 5 players and no wonder with all the rain we have had.  All the way down the 331 the heavens poured it down on us but as we got closer to the course the skies ahead lightened and once there the rain stopped.

Because of the wet conditions we were offered 1350 baht all in for green fee, caddy fee & cart.  The front nine belonged to Colin & Nigel with 18 points each but then on the inward half the Donkey stumbled in the wet conditions and left it all to Nigel, who also had 18 points on the back.

No near pin competition today, due to the low numbers.

Wednesday, May 31, Burapha A & B – Stableford

1st Alistair Gall (20) 41pts

2nd Thierry Petrement (12) 37pts

3rd Colm O’Donavan (20) 37pts

We had a good size group of 13 players today for Burapha, all hoping it would stay dry.  The course was in good condition and the greens were very fast but true.  They had left the rough to grow so you were penalised if you left the fairway, but even so we had some good scores today with the course playing very long indeed.

Far out in front was Alistair Gall with 41 points and then we had a count back on 37 that saw Thierry Petrement, with 21pts on the back nine coming through on the rails to pip Colm O’Donavan.  The Donkey again showed promise but failed on the last few holes.

Near pins went to Tip Briney, Colm O’Donavan, Barry Oats and Thierry Petrement while Colm O’Donavan chalked up the sole long putt.

Friday, June 2, Crystal Bay B & C – Stableford

1st Aidan Murray (24) 29pts

2nd Colm O’Donavon (20) 29pts

Just 6 players today for Crystal Bay and we set out on a course that was in reasonable condition considering the recent rains.  We were led by a Donkey and all played like donkeys, there was no excuses, we were terrible, enough said!
