Golf from Siam Country Resort Pattaya
Tuesday, Jan. 31, The Emerald – Stableford
On Tuesday we went with 3 groups to Emerald Golf Course. It was lovely weather with a nice breeze to keep things cool. The course was in fine shape so we expected some good results, however despite the favourable conditions the scores were not as high as we thought.
Today it was Sam Gettinby (H/cap 26) who showed the most consistency and won with 35 stableford points. George Gamble (27) followed Sam up the podium steps in second place with 34 points and Martin Hayes (18) took third with 33.
The near pins went to Willem Lasonder, Dave Smith, Sam Gettinby and Patrick Devereux.
Thursday, Feb. 2, Greenwood – Stableford
Greenwood was our venue on Thursday and as always the course was in good condition although the greens were quite fast and difficult. We had a cloudy day and that meant nice weather and not to hot.
George Gamble continued his good form this week to take the win with 40 points. In second came Dave Smith with 36, beating Neil Harvey (17) on a count back.
Remarkably there were no near pin winners today.
