This was our only singles competition of the week as on Tuesday we were washed out at Mountain Shadow and had to abandon our game after nine holes and on Thursday we all joined in John Deardon’s excellent charity scramble in aid of the Camillian Home for children, where four of our regular players came out the winners. Well done John for a very well run and very successful competition.
Back to Sunday in Green Valley and we had only one person who managed to beat his handicap, that being Russell Gilroy who won the day with thirty seven points. Shaun Merriman was second with thirty five and he beat Al Griffiths in to third place on a count back. Michael Williams was fourth with thirty four points after beating Alec Hoare into fifth place on a count back.
We had six 2’s from Al Griffiths (2), Mark Lang, Nick Caulfield, Russell Gilroy and John Fenwick.
