Two Garden International School (GIS) students have won a major golfing tournament in the US. Year 11 student Poon and Year 6’s Queen travelled to Las Vegas to take part in the World Stars of Junior Golf competition, which was held from July 20-23.
This tournament attracted more than 350 junior golfers from 37 countries around the world.
Poon finished with a score of 208 (69-67-72) (Par 71) in three rounds to win the championship title in the Boys 15-16 years division at the TPC Las Vegas.

Queen had a fantastic score of 103 (34-36-33) (Par 37) in three rounds of 9 holes each day at the Badlands Golf Course. That gave her a 5-stroke win over the USA’s Summer Lee from Texas to win the Girls 9-10 year division A.
