Golf stars descend on Pattaya

The world’s top 60 women golfers are in town this weekend to contest the 1.5 million dollar 2013 Honda LPGA Thailand golf tournament taking place at Siam Country Club ‘Old Course’ from Feb. 21-24.

Star names taking part include last year’s winner and world No 1 player Yani Tseng of Taiwan, Ai Miyazato (2010 winner), Suzanne Pettersen (2007 title winner), Na Yeon Choi, Stacey Lewis, Michelle Wie, Paula Creamer, and 15-year old prodigy Lydia Ko from New Zealand, who has already won 3 LPGA sanctioned tour events despite still competing as an amateur.

With no halfway tournament cut, all the big names will be in action over the weekend and tickets can be bought at the course at the following prices: 300 baht for Thursday & Friday, 400 baht for Saturday and 500 baht for Sunday.  A 4-day pass can be bought for 800 baht.  Spectators who are 18 years old or under and 60 years or over can gain free admission to the event.
