IPGC golf from The Tara Court Golf Group
Sunday, Jan. 26, Green Valley – Stableford
Because we had an extra large group out today, Green Valley was unable to give us enough tee times so we decided to move over to Silky Oak for a change. This seems to be a course where you either love it or hate and today most of our golfers loved it and were very pleased with both the layout and the condition of the course.
Most of us played the white tees as we didn’t know the course very well and a few hardy souls took on the longer yellow tees with the scores reflecting the extra difficulty of the longer course.
Donal Lyne.
Off the white tees in the A Flight, Donal Lyne was the winner with 36pts ahead of Jack Behan in second and Alec Hoare third. Also off the whites but in B Flight, Tony Cowe had his first win with us with the best score of the day, 39pts, while in second place was Brian Lalor with 36 and Sean Hallahan third with 33.
Playing off the longer yellow tees, Tony Pike had 35pts to win and Declan Kelly was second with 33.
