Monday, July 24, Plutaluang – Stableford
We were playing the North and West courses today with two divisions out with a strange equal cut of 14-21 and 22+. Frank Grainger recorded the best score of the day, winning division 2 with 34 points while Rod Howett was second one point behind and Leo Adam took third with 25.
Paul Butler beat Tom Yahnke 11/10 on the back six after they both scored 31 points overall to win the top division and John Doyle was third with 29.
Near pins went to (Div 1) Paul Butler and Tom Yahnke, and (Div 2) Kevin Day, Peter Davies and Rod Howett (2).
Paul Butler birdied North 6 for the only ‘2’ of the day.
Wednesday, July 26, Silky Oak – Stableford
A similar turnout as of Monday but with 16 as the highest handicap in division 1 and Neil Gamble came out the winner with 35 points while Shane Tutton was second on 31.
Willy Van Heetvelde topped the podium in division 2 with 34 points and in second place Alan Bissell beat Frank Grainger on count back.
Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Paul Butler and Neil Gamble, and (Div 2) Alan Bissell and Frank Grainger.
Alan Bissell scooped the ‘2’s pot with a birdie on the 16th.
Friday, July 28, Eastern Star – Stableford
There are a few Korean groups out in front of us and it was a very slow round today at Eastern Star.
Brian Green, playing off 14, won division 1 with 36 points and as always in the frame Paul Butler beat Tom Yahnke 7/6 on the back three for second after they both scored 29 points overall.
Frank Kelly with 34 points topped division 2, with the organizer coming in with 31 points to take second and third place went to Peter Davies who beat Tony Thorne on count back after both scored 28 points.
Only one nearest the pin in division 1, coming from Brian Green, but three winners in division 2 in the shape of John Doyle, Frank Kelly (2) and Tony Thorne.
Glyn Evans took share of the ‘2’s pot with Frank Kelly and Jan Skovly.
