2nd Terry Pettitt (12) 32pts

T3rd Fred Graham (16) 31pts

T3rd Zod Beloglavec (13) 31pts

T3rd Gary Smedley (20) 31pts

We still hear a lot of grumbling about the condition of Green Valley these days, especially the greens.  I guess that is why we had another smaller-than –usual turnout today to our regular Monday venue.

John Hutt won the Senior Open at Hazelmere.

As it turned out, a mere 34 points took first place today whereas our average winning score is 38, so lots of lost shots went somewhere.  We had another mobbed podium as 4 guys tied for third place (what’s the deal with all these ties lately?).

Capt. Phil had his brother Gary in town this week from Australia and he got on the board to take a share of third place.  We saw yet another win for Kevin Hamilton and another dropping of his handicap as well.  Kev is in a bit of a purple patch, especially at Green Valley!

We must also give a congratulatory note to our mate John Hutt.  John had an operation back in the UK this summer but bounced back strong.  John entered the Hazelmere G.C. Seniors Open with 85 players taking part, and he won it scoring 41 points and playing off a 22 handicap.  Great going Johnny!

Wednesday, Oct. 14, Pattavia (white tees) – Stableford

A splendid day of golf was ahead of us at the ever-popular Pattavia Century.  The course was in great condition, not like some of us from the night before.  It is an extra 15 minutes drive to get out here, but the trip through the pineapple fields is well worth it.

Our podium today was filled with TGC regulars for a change!  This time the local knowledge on these tricky greens paid off as the tourists struggled with the flat stick.  I think we all know the feeling, as the first few times you play here is a big learning curve for the quick greens of Pattavia.

The short but sinister 4th hole par-3 at Pattavia Century.

Co-pilot Dave Ferris shared the win today with Peter Thomas, both on 37 points which is a brilliant score on this course.  Papa Dale and Markie also did well with respectable 34’s on the day.

T1st Dave Ferris (22) 37pts

T1st Peter Thomas (18) 37pts

T2nd Dale Shier (13) 34pts

T2nd Mark Wood (9) 34pts
