Golf from Siam Country Resort Pattaya
Tuesday, Feb. 21, Pattavia – Stableford
On Tuesday we went with 3 groups to Pattavia. It was already warm in the morning and we missed a cool breeze today. The course and the greens were in good condition, but the greens were as always difficult to play. The bunkers need more maintenance also.
We had good scores today and it was very thrilling at the end as Neil Harvey (H/cap 17) took the victory on a count back over Stan Rees, both with 40 stableford points (26). In third was George Gamble (27) with 39 points, beating Mike James (36) on count back.
The near pins went to George Gamble, Dave Smith, Neil Harvey and Sam Gettinby.
Thursday, Feb. 23, Crystal Bay – Stableford
Crystal Bay was our venue on Thursday and we went there with two groups. The course was in good condition and the greens were fair, but the bunkers need more attention of the green-keeper. The course was also wet due to long watering during the early morning.
We had again an exciting game between Stan Rees and Dave Smith, with Stan getting the win with 40 points and Dave taking second with 39.
The near pin prizes went to Dave Smith and Stuart Banks.
