PSC Golf from Siam Country Resort Pattaya
Tuesday, August 16, Phoenix – Stableford
On Tuesday we went with 3 groups to Phoenix and played the Lakes & Ocean course. We are still not used to the redesign of the Lakes and the players who know the old layout don’t like the changes very much either.
We expected that the course would be in a very good condition after the King’s Cup, but that was also a little bit disappointing. Nevertheless, we had a nice day on a crowded course. The group behind us was very pushing and could not wait on their tee-time. The weather was ok, sunny and not to hot.
Neil Harvey (H/cap16) was in excellent form today and won with 42 stable ford points. Second was Stuart Banks (21) with 39 points and in third came Willem Lasonder (23) with 37.
The nears pin went to Neil Harvey and Martin Hayes (twice).
Thursday, August 18, Treasure Hill – Stableford
We went with off with 3 groups to Treasure Hill on Thursday. The course was in a very good condition and we again had nice weather with a cooling breeze. The course was quiet and we played in a relaxed manner.
Daniel Oshiro (H/cap 19) led the way today and won with 39 points. Stuart Banks and Neil Harvey confirmed their form of the week; Stuart taking second place with 36 points and Neil in third with 35.
The near pins were claimed by Paddy Devereux (twice) and Jonathan Pratt.
Note: Siam Country Resort Pattaya is located just off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11, turn right after 50 meters, with the venue on the left another 200 meters along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday & Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days.
