Golf from Siam Country Resort Pattaya

Tuesday, Jan. 24, Treasure Hill – Stableford

On Tuesday we went with 3 groups to Treasure Hill.  The course was in good condition, but the greens were difficult.  We had nice weather and a cool breeze – good conditions for a nice day of golf.

No high scores today due to the difficult course but Martin Hayes (H/cap 18), just back in town, had no problems with his jetlag and the switch to warm weather after a cold Europe as he won with 35 stableford points.  Joop Bijsterbosch (29) and Paddy Devereux (18) competed for the second spot, with Joop just edging it on 31 points to Paddy’s 30.

The near pins went to Willem Lasonder, Paddy Devereux, Daniel Oshiro and Martin Hayes.

Thursday, Jan. 26, Crystal Bay – Stableford

Thursday was a trip to Crystal Bay and we went again with 3 groups to play the B & C course.  The layout was in good condition and especially the fairways were very nice.  The greens on the B-course were fast, but on the C-course much slower.

Martin Hayes again took the win, this time with a fine 39 point score.  Paul Davies (29) and Neil Harvey (17) had a close battle for second place, with Paul beating Neil on the count back after they both finished with 36 points each.

Nears pins were claimed by Neil Harvey, Martin Hayes (2) and Paul Davies.
