Heavy traffic expected around stadium during Liverpool-Manchester United match tonight

MPB deputy commissioner Pol Maj Gen Jirasant Kaewsaengek said the stadium would open its gates to spectators from 4pm and the match was set at 8pm today.

The Metropolitan Police Bureau (MPB) advised people to avoid roads in the vicinity of the Rajamangala National Stadium that will be the venue of “THE MATCH Bangkok Century Cup 2022” between Liverpool and Manchester United football clubs tonight.

MPB deputy commissioner Pol Maj Gen JirasantKaewsaengek said the stadium would open its gates to spectators from 4pm and the match was set at 8pm today.



The event would draw crowds while an electric railway construction was underway on Ramkhamhaeng Road in front of the stadium. Therefore, there would be negative impacts on local traffic, he said.



He recommended people avoid roads near the stadium from 2pm until the end of the match. He referred to Ramkhamhaeng, Rama IX, Ramkhamhaeng 24, HuaMak and ThawornThawat roads.

Pol Maj Gen Jirasant said spectators should use public transport services including passenger buses, the Airport Rail Link and passenger boats. (TNA)
