Sunday, June 23, Green Valley – Stableford
We had our largest group out for some time with two flights today and while it started off nice and our first group got fourteen holes played before the rain came, and when it did it was very heavy and lasted a long time.
Some members of our group were going very well before the rain started but the wet conditions meant that they didn’t finish so well. One of those was Craig Hitchens (H/cap 13) who was burning it up and while he still managed to finish with thirty-six points it was only good enough for him to finish in second place in the A flight as Shaun Merriman (11) pipped him on the countback. Donal McGuigan (14) took third place with thirty three points.
In the B flight the rain didn’t stop Peter Henshaw (30) who came in with the best score of the day and was the winner with thirty-eight points. Russell Gilroy (16) took second with thirty-four points and Joe McArdle (15) was third place with thirty-three.
We had one ‘2’ today, from Donal McGuigan.
Tuesday, June 25, Pattaya C.C – Stableford
A small field today and the course was quite and in fairly good condition, with the greens a good speed.
No one played to handicap today as the pin placements were a bit tricky. In first place was Ted Morris (H/cap 17) with 35 points, second went to Glenn Armitstead (15) and playing his last game before a trip back home Joe McArdle (15) took third on 31.
Russel Gilroy & Daryl Burkett shared the 2’s pot.
