Well you can tell the weather has improved this week because the courses have been in excellent condition and the winning scores have all been better than basic handicap and in most cases by a long way. As they used to say when April arrived in Europe, “Spring has sprung, the grass has risen, I wonder where the birdies are?” Well the birdies this week were all over the golf courses of Pattaya.
On Monday 29th October, TRGG paid a visit to Emerald and one of our regular patrons Roger Wilkinson (13) showed the foreign invaders the way home by taking first place with 37pts. Antipodean Chris Sloan (7) was a close run second on 36pts and North American Mike Rushant (12) came in third on 33.

On Tuesday 30th October it was off to Laem Chabang to play the (C and A courses). Now Laem Chabang in most people’s eyes is a pleasure to behold, the scenery is fabulous and its immaculate condition makes it a pleasure to play.
The top three all had rounds to remember and they will all be seeing a cut in their handicaps. Dave Palmer (6) showed he can play off scratch by posting a remarkable 42pts to take first place. Norman Cheetham (15) took second on count back from Michael Prideaux (12) in third both finishing on 38pts.
Thursday 1st November was our weekly trip to Phoenix to play (Mountain and Lakes). Michael Prideaux (11), playing off his reduced handicap, took it all in his stride by shooting 39pts, beating Chris Sloan (7) on count back as those two took first and second respectively. Steady Teddy Senior (14) came third with 36pts.
On Saturday it was Crystal Bay’s (A and B courses) turn to play host to the TRGG. The winning scores again turned out to be remarkable. Gary Hookey (16) shot 41pts to take first place from Norman Cheetham (14) with 40pts in second and Dave Palmer (4) in third on 38pts.
