PSC golf from Siam Country Resort
Tuesday, Nov. 5, Greenwood – Stableford
Greenwood was the venue for our first game of the high season, and what a perfect day for golf it was: clear blue skies, light breeze, and with the course in good order it made for a great start.
The C & B loop was our allotted combination for the day, and it was the recently returned George Gamble (H/cap 23) who got into the swing with a fine 38 points, a few ahead of Jeff Wylie (7) in second spot.

Although there were several tee shots just off the edges of greens, Near Pins were hard to get and it was only Brian Maddox who managed to garner one.
Thursday, Nov. 7, The Emerald – Stableford
Thursday saw us visit Emerald, and just as the groups were teeing off a shower moved across the course, with several more during the day. The light rain had no effect on the course or scores for the day and it was Owen Walkley (10) leading the way home a clear winner with 41 points.
The minor placings were headed by Paddy Devereux (23) with 37pts, ahead of Mickey Nield (9) with 36, while fourth spot had to be decided by count back after Willem Lasonder (20) & Dave Edwards (16) both signed for 35 points – Willem getting the nod over Dave 18/17.
With the bigger field today, the Near Pins were hotly contested, resulting in Owen, Paddy & Jeff with 2 getting the prizes.
Note: Siam Country Resort, Restaurant & Bar is located just off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11, turn right after 50 metres, with the venue on the left another 200 metres along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday & Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days.
