IPGC Golf from The Tara Court
Sunday, April 9, Green Valley – Medal
It was time for our fourth monthly medal of 2017 here at Green Valley today, where does the time go to? It was a very nice day for golf and still not too hot, especially for this time of year.
You would think that now that low season is here and the numbers are small that it would be easy to win the medal but not so today. Ken Hole is our oldest golfer in the group and he had a score which would have won any month, having a net sixty-eight and winning by a clear five shots. Ken also had the only ‘2’ of the day and also the first one in three weeks which meant that he scooped a large carryover from the previous weeks.
Ken’s friend and playing partner, Peter Henshaw, got second place with a net seventy-four and his other pal Terry Mangan took third place with a net seventy-five. Kevin Blake also had a net seventy five but lost out on the count back and had to settle for the fourth and last place today.
Tuesday, April 11, Crystal Bay – Stableford
Back at Crystal Bay today with our friends from the PFGS on what was a hotter day and more like the April weather you would expect.
Marc Brunner had his first win with us last week and it looks like he is going to make a habit of it as he was the winner again today with thirty seven-points, the only golfer who managed to beat his handicap. Dan Croker was playing his first ever game with us and made a very good start as he came second with thirty five points, a good score as it was also his first time ever to play this course. Pat Carty took third with thirty-two and Russell Gilroy came in fourth with thirty-one, keeping Joe Peters out of the prizes on count back. We had no ‘2’s today.
