Monday, August 28, Plutaluang – Stableford
For a change we booked the East and South courses today and everyone enjoyed these two nines, with the greens not as fast as we are used to but still very consistent.
In his first game for a few weeks Dave Horne topped division 1 with 35 points while Tom Yahnke was second and Colin Aspinall came in third on 32.
The Bristol boy Bob Poole won division 2with 34 points on count back over Frank Grainger in second and Alan Bissell was third with 30.
Near pins went to (Div 1) Kenny Cleckner and Dave Horne (2), and (Div 2) Leo Adam, Frank Grainger and Rod Howett.
Ray Daws birdied the 4th on the South course for the only ‘2’s winner in division 1 and Dave Phillips birdied the same hole in division 2.
Wednesday, August 30, Pattaya C.C. – Stableford
Two 37-pointers came in today in both divisions; Paul Young winning division 1 and Mark Armstrong doing likewise in the second flight.
Paul was 2 points ahead of Ray Daws in second and Paul Butler was third on 34 points.
The renowned Australian chef Mark Armstrong was 2 points up on Frank Grainger in second while Tom Novak was a further two back in third with 33.
Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Ray Daws, Dave Horne, Mark Potton and Paul Young, and (Div 2) Frank Grainger.
Ray Daws birdied the 7th and Terry Madsen the 12th to split the ‘2’s pot in division 1 while in division 2 there was a rollover to the following Monday.
Friday, Sept. 1, Eastern Star – Stableford
There were 6 four-balls out today with the equal cut of 12 in each division at 3- 16.0 and 16.1 + and amazingly 34 was the highest score returned today in both divisions.
Mark Potton won division 1 ahead of Mikael Andersson in second on 32 points and Paul Smith, playing off 3, was third with 31.
The organizer Glyn Evans topped division 2, with Frank Kelly taking second place one point behind and the Welsh boy David Phillips came in third with 32.
Near pins went to (Div 1) Mikael Andersson, Kenny Cleckner and Mark Potton (2), and (Div 2) Leo Adam, Tom Novak, Les Smith and Tony Thorne.
Mikael Andersson birdied the 6th and 17th to claim the rollover ‘2’s pot in the top flight and Tom Novak also birdied the 17th to scoop the division 2 loot.
