PSC Golf from Mulligans Lakeside
Tuesday, Sept. 18, Treasure Hill – Stableford
First to Tuesday when we travelled up 331 to Treasure Hill, which just continues to get better -not easier mind, just better. The course has many critics, too hard, too long, but more and more golfers are coming to realise it offers a fair test at a good rate on a well prepared course.
Today the course was definitely the winner, with only Jeff Wylie (5) managing to break 30 points, just, with 31, while the in-form Willem Lasonder (20) was next best with 27.
Near pins were shared around between Willem, Frans & Jeff.
Thursday, Sept. 20, Greenwood – Stableford
Thursday was a little further up the road to Greenwood, with the C & B combination to be our test of the day.
Golfers enjoy some post game camaraderie at Mulligans Lakeside.
Scores were a good deal better today, as the course, although never easy, is not the test of Tuesday. Willem Lasonder (20) again showed he is taking those tips from Jeff to good use, with some great driving that put him in good position to shoot a solid 38 points. Dave Edwards (16), returning from the UK for a few months stay, was next best with 34 points.
Jeff and Dave shared the near pins today, but no birdie ‘2’s.
Friday was the PSC monthly tournament (see page 58), with Mulligans Lakeside continuing to support the PSC, this time at Siam Plantation. Several of our golfers, Iain, Willem, Frans and Clive won technical prizes, while the others were restricted to hoping for a lucky draw. Everybody enjoyed the day and look forward to next month’s tournament at Pleasant Valley.
