Phoenix Tuesday/Friday Golf Group

There is not much to report about regarding Friday and Sunday golf except to say that few of us are still enjoying playing on these days, albeit just a couple of groups at the most.

However Tuesday’s are very healthy and we set off on June 26 with our monthly stroke play competition for the Trattoria Italiana voucher, donated by our good friend Giorgio Baccioli.

John Bartley came up trumps again, this time with a fine net 70 to claim the winner’s spot.  In second place was his fellow countryman Patrick Browne who netted a total 74 shots and in third place was the most consistent, erratic golfer at the moment, Stuart Gordon, who carded a net 75 (God knows how?).  It seems his golf is like the construction of his new house, all over the place.  It just goes to show how important it is to chip and putt well.

No near pins this week, but the lucky draw prizes (donated by our hosts, The Relax Bar) went to Mike Gerrard (free massage), Sergio Volpi (free drink) and Sergio Poggi (free drink).

Anyone interested in joining our little group or who may wish to go sea fishing, can call me (Mike) on 087 091 7565 for more information.  Basic rules required for the group are an official handicap of no more than 28 and No Ladies are permitted to play.  To this end we will be changing the name of the group soon to make it clear of the latter requirement.
