Monday, Sept. 16, Green Valley (white tees) – Stableford

1st Jay Burns (0) 40pts

2nd Jimmy Dundon (15) 39pts

T3rd Tate Akifumi (17) 37pts

T3rd Ron Robertson (28) 37pts

Wow!  We all knew that Jay Burns is a “real” golfer.  We have played with him a lot over the last decade or so.  Jay is always in the frame and in the game, but you would expect that from a Southern Gentleman who plays off scratch.  Today, Jay woke up on the right side of bed (the side that the Gods of Golf like) and smoked the field with a 68 off the stick at Green Valley.

It sure must be nice to have the skills that would get you to the point where you would have some degree of mastery on a golf course.  What a dream come true!  Jay deserves all credit for a masterful round of golf, and the best score off the stick so far this year for The Golf Club.

Tuesday, Sept. 17, Khao Kheow (yellow tees) – Stableford

1st Jay Burns (0) 35pts

2nd John Pierrel (11) 31pts

3rd Phil Smedley (9) 30pts

When you’re hot, you’re hot!  Smokin’ Jay Burns was once again on top of the world!  We all know how tough a course Khao Kheow can be, and today there were no golfers to even shoot their handicap.  Jay was closest, being just one shot off and took the crown for today’s comp.

The travelling golfer John Pierrel came in second with 31 points and our fearless Golf Captain Phil Smedley has finally returned from Oz to take third on 30 Stableford points.  Good goin’ guys, it’s a jungle out there!

Thursday, Sept. 19, Burapha (white tees) – Stableford

Time for another trip to the monkey course, but this time there was no monkey business as our pal Aki stormed off with a tremendous 40 points to clear the field by 3 points.  Shooting a 40 anywhere is great going, so congrats to Aki for achieving this on one of the tougher tracks in Pattaya.  The weather treated us well, as September is usually the month of highest rainfall.

Second place was shared on 37 points and both golfers were playing off 11 handicap.  Phil Williams and Dan Willetts had very similar rounds of golf and turned in 37’s on this tricky golf course.  Well played lads and thanks for joining us for another week of great golf in Pattaya, the home of golf in Thailand!
