The Jet Ski King’s Cup-World Cup Grand Prix 2011 is coming to town this weekend with the event hitting the surf off Jomtien Beach from December 2-4.
The Grand Slam will feature some fantastic racing in all 16 categories, from Novice, Amateur and Pro and will give spectators the chance to view at first hand some of the top racers in the sport, including twice crowned “King of Jet Ski” in 2009 and 2010, Nicolas Rius of France, England’s James Bushell, South Africa’s Jared Moore and Aero Sutan Aswar, the rising star from Indonesia. They will have to compete with Thailand’s top jet-ski racers including past champions Chokuthit Molee and Chaowalit Kuajaroon.
A total cash prize of more than $160,000 is up for grabs with money awarded to the top three finishers in each class. Among the categories that will be contested at the competition are Pro Ski Open, Pro Sport GP, Pro R/A 800 Open, Pro Freestyle and Pro R/A Open.
The event will be broadcast live on ESPN Starsports and will be available to more than 300 million viewers in the region.
