2nd Kathy Doody (19) 34pts

Near Pins:  No3 Mark Morris, No5 Jez Lees, No10 Christy Knight, No17 Jack Grindvold

Sunday’s bash was switched to the Desmond Muirhead’s designed St Andrews as the regular spot at Green Valley was host to a Thai youth tournament.  This suited B Flight’s Merle Humphreys down to the ground as he fashioned a best of the day 39 points for man of the match and the flight honours.  Irishman Christy ‘good’ Knight got the better of Eddy ‘the President’ in a count-back for second as both posted even par rounds.

The big boys’ flight was led in by Gareth’ Ralphy’ Gill with a rock solid 38 points.  Young Irishman Pat Regan came out of a pile-up of players all a stroke adrift for the silver while Gally Blackburne gained the bronze, leaving Gavin ‘you know who’ satang-less.

Jim Bell. Jim Bell.

The red flight went to Jum Karagit on 34 points as she got the nod over Kathy Doody in a count-back verdict.

The ‘Principal’ and ‘Mussels’ were well and truly nailed to the cross in their weekly four ball side challenge.  Say no more!

Mick Lenihan, Christy Knight, Jez Lees and Gavin were not quite satang-less as they shared the 2’s pot.

Monday, March 28, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Mike Jeffreys (16) 35pts

2nd Peter Wallace (22) 35pts

3rd Jim Bell (19) 31pts

A relatively modest group took on the favorite of many, Khao Kheow A&B layout.  The scores on the day reflected the difficulty of the course with no one bettering par.  Two players were mixed up with 35 points apiece but the count-back sorted it out favorable for Mike Jeffery’s to take the top spot while Peter Wallace gained the silver.

Jim Bell and Henry Wong faced off in another count-back for the bronze and it turned out Jim’s was more favorably distributed than Henry’s.

Mike and Jim added a 2 to their winnings along with Peter ‘Don O’Corleone’ Henshaw.

2nd John Heaney (19) 37pts

3rd Takeshi Hakozaki (12) 37pts

Jim Bell was man of the match with a top flight winning 41points of his 19 handicap.  If ever he has the opportunity to play consistently and work on his game there is no telling how low his handicap can go.  Jim was four clear of the tandem of Irishman John Heaney and Takeshi Hakozaki San.

Jim and Peter Henshaw split the 2’s pot.
