PSC Golf from Mulligans Lakeside
Tuesday, Dec. 7, Rayong C.C. – Stableford
Tuesday dawned, clear skies, a cooling breeze, and so it was that we took off for Rayong C.C., where the greens were in the best condition I have ever seen them. That includes last year prior to holding some early rounds of the Asian Qualifying School. The fairways were also ok, although tending to the dry side, so no excuses accepted re the course.
John Chapman (23), who does not venture out much these days (to golf, that is), certainly found the conditions to his liking, returning a very creditable 39 points. The consistent Jeff Wylie (7) with 36 points rounded out the prizes today; a game of ‘could have beens’ for Jeff who started off strong before coming home in an ambulance, requiring 2 finishing pars to play to his handicap.
Near Pins were shared amongst Joel & Jeff today.
Thursday, Dec. 9, Crystal Bay – Stableford
Thursday was a long awaited return to Crystal Bay, where the B & C nines were to be our test de jour. The course is returning to somewhere near its past glory with smooth, true rolling greens, which on some occasions just seem to roll on forever. The fairways were also in good nick, with the wiry rough providing a test for errant shots.

Jeff Wylie (7) fulfilled some of his early promise from Tuesday with a good return of 40 points. Next best was Ken Hole (15) with 31, edging Derk Waterworth (31) on count-back, 16/14. Ken lamented his standard of play today, but it’s not all bad, when you can play not near your best and still grab some prize money.
Jeff had a day out with the near pins today, collecting 3, while the other went unclaimed, resulting in a donation to Banglamung Boy’s Home.
Note: Mulligans Lakeside plays golf generally on Tuesday & Thursday (we sometimes change to accommodate a Thai Holiday), presentations are made at the course on Tuesday, with Mulligans Lakeside hosting the Thursday presentation.
