Journalists raise 300,000 baht for charity

The Pattaya Press Association raised more than 300,000 baht at its annual charity bowling tournament recently.

Former MP Poramet Ngampichet opened the May 20 event at SF Strike Bowl at Central Festival Pattaya Beach.  Ninety people participated in the competition and 16 sponsors chipped in 5,000 baht each for the fundraiser.

Association President Samart Thongrod said the event not only helps various charitable organizations around Pattaya, but brings members and participants closer together.

The A-Tech team took first place with 1,460 points while Team Rotary Jomtien finished second with 1,408.  The Sriracha Press Association placed a distant third with 646 points.
