Monday, May 2, The Emerald – Stableford

The numbers are diminishing now, and this only one week before our planned Hua Hin trip.  We still managed to put out two divisions today with the cut set at 8-17 in the top flight.

Jerry Sweetnam, playing off 12, beat Chris Voller 20/16 on the back nine to win the first division after they both came in with 36 points each.

Colin James was the winner in division 2 with 28 points and Paul Hartley took second just one point behind.

(From left) Kari Aarnio with Gil Philips and Nik Evans.

Near pins went to (Div 1) Jerry Sweetnam and Chris Voller, and (Div 2) William Chang and Don Head.

Paul Hartley birdied the 13th and Don Head the 7th for the only ‘2’s of the day and split the division 2 pot between them.

Wednesday, May 4, Khao Kheow – Stableford

An effortless drive up to Khao Kheow on Wednesday saw us arrive early and we were allocated the B and C nines, teeing off well ahead of schedule.

40 points was the best score in either division, with that mark coming from Kari Aarnio who won division 2 by an amazing ten point margin over Gil Phillips in second while Willy Van Heetvelde came in third with 27.

Jerry Sweetnam.

Nik Evans was the winner in division 1 with 34 points, Paul Butler was second on 32 and Pete Sumner took third with 31.

Near pins were claimed by (Div 1) Nik Evans and Pete Sumner, and (Div 2) Curtis Hessler and Gil Phillips.

Gil Phillips birdied B3 for the only ‘2’ of the day and scooped the division 2 booty.  There are now 2 rollovers in the first division pool which will carry over to May 16.

Friday, May 6, Eastern Star – Stableford
