Monday, March 26, Khao Kheow – Stableford

1st Kevin Kennedy (23) 40pts

2nd Keith Buchanan (16) 38pts

3rd Shane Young (26) 37pts

Near Pins: Lorraine Percy, Tony Ryan, Bill Stienmann, Kevin Kennedy

Long Putts: Lorraine Percy, Shane Young

Not the biggest of fields but at least there were golfers prepared to have a go and 12 players travelled to Khao Kheow, which was in quite good nick as it always is.  The skies were overcast with a light wind, and the odd spot of light rain, which made playing conditions quite pleasant.

We played C and A Nines from the white tees, and it looked as though we were heading for some very good scores.  With the field being small we were to play one division only with three podium places and all six novelties to be in play.

The day was won by newcomer Kevin Kennedy and his return of 40 points put him clear of the field.  ‘Kissy’ Buchanan was back to his usual best, coming in 2 shots behind Kevin and third spot on the podium went to the count-back system, which gave Shane Young the nod over Tony Ryan and Tony Cook.

Thursday, March 29, Burapha – Stableford

1st Kevin Kennedy (23) 38pts

2nd Keith Buchanan (16) 38pts

3rd Bill Steinman (13) 36pts

Near Pins: Keith Buchanan, Jayson Schembri

Long Putts: Bill Steinmann

A very small field ventured out to play one of the best local courses, Burapha.  It was a shame that we did not have the numbers as the course was in tip-top shape with well manicured fairways and true greens, despite having received plenty of wet stuff over the past few days.

The course was very quiet but Kevin Kennedy was making plenty of noise as he took his second win of the week, this time with 38 points on count-back over the unlucky Keith Buchanan who had to settle for the silver once again. Bill Steinman took third with an even par 36 points.
