The Tara Court Golf Society
Sunday, June 24, Green Valley – Stableford
A small field of 11 players was away about 10 minutes early and everyone finished well under the 4 hour mark – should be like this all the time. The course is still in great condition, with the greens maybe a fraction slower than the past few weeks.
In first place today and the only one to play to handicap was Ken Hole (18) with 36 points, closely following was Terry Mangan (22) with 35. Third spot was decided on a C/B which went to the last 6 holes: Kevyn Wright (12) kept Paul Pavloff (6) off the podium after both shot 34 points. To make his day Paul had to share the 2’s with Kevyn.
Tuesday, June 26, Pattaya C.C. – Stableford
Another group of 11 made the short journey to Pattaya Country Club and were away about 20 minutes early. Overcast conditions made for a comfortable round and we all finished before the threatening skies opened up.
Some very good scoring today and leading the way was Kevyn Wright (12) with 40 points. His handicap is quickly coming down now. Taking second spot was Glenn Armitstead (17) on 36 points while third went to Craig Hitchens (13) on 35. There were no 2’s today.
A special mention to Russell Gilroy, who thought he was back at Bondi Beach and had the caddies calling him ‘Mr Bunker’ after just the front nine.
