Sunday, Oct. 7, Green Valley – Stableford

1st Kevyn Wright (11) 40pts

2nd Rod Torrie (10) 37pts

3rd Kevin O’Sullivan (14) 36pts

4th Donal McGuigan (17) 34pts

5th Jerry Sweetnam (10) 34pts

We were lucky again here today at Green Valley as the rain stayed away but the course was very wet and heavy and it was carts on the paths only.

A slightly larger group out today and good scoring under the conditions and our winner was Kevyn Wright who had an excellent forty points, which was three points ahead of his nearest rival Rod Torrie who was playing with us for the first time in a long time. Despite having three blanks on his card Kevin O’Sullivan still managed to play to his handicap to come third and we then had three players with thirty four points with Donal McGuigan winning the count back to take fourth spot ahead of Jerry Sweetnam and Ian Corica.

We had two ‘2’s today, coming from Donal McGuigan and Kevyn Wright.

Tuesday, Oct. 9,
Mt. Shadow – Stableford

We had twelve players today at one of our regular courses. The fairways first  cut of rough had just been mown and were in great condition but the recent rains meant mud on the ball so lift & place on fairways was the order for the day.

In first place and the only one to beat handicap today was the podium king Russell Gilroy (16) with 38 points. In his first visit to the podium this trip in second place was Dan Hobbs (25) on 34 points and we then had 2 players locked on 33 points but Craig Hitchens (13) had the better back nine (18pts) to claimed third place ahead of Joe McArdle (15pts).

Joe added to his winnings by having the only ‘2’ of the day.

Thursday, Oct. 11, Burapha – Stableford

1st Kevin Wright (11) 39pts

2nd Jerry Sweetnam (10) 37pts

3rd Phelim Moran (10) 36pts

4th Kevin Blake (9) 36pts

A very wet course here at Burapha today where we played the A and B courses. Again today because many of the tees were back on the blue tee boxes and with the course being so wet it was playing very long. Now that high season is coming the numbers are starting to creep up a bit and a larger group out today.

Under the circumstances we got very good scores today and to get in the prizes you had to play to your handicap or better. Kevyn Wright is playing very good golf at the moment and he was a clear winner again today with an excellent thirty nine points. Jerry Sweetnam is also playing very steady and took second with thirty seven points and he also had the consolation of having a ‘2’. We then had two players with thirty six points; Kevin Blake had been burning it up on the front nine with twenty one points but he let it slip a bit on the back nine so he lost the count back to Phelim Moran who also had a ‘2’.
