Monday, June 18,Mountain Shadow – Stableford

On time departure for Mountain Shadow arriving 45 minutes later. Check-in was fast and we teed off at 0935, 25 minutes early under cloudy skies with a good stiff wind, but soon after the sun came out. The course was in various stages of coring and sanding but quite playable. There seems to be a lot of money being spent on both courses, maybe new owners.
Back in the clubhouse after a round of 4 hours and 10 minutes we welcomed James Carrick back from Las Vegas. The scores on the day were not great but in the beginning Kristin Helgason looked like he was going to run away with it but finished first with 37 points. Creaky Ronnie Ratte was second on 35 points and Dave Richardson third with 30.
Thursday, June 21,Pleasant Valley – Monthly Mug/Stroke
1st Kristin Helgason (18) net 67
2nd Ronnie Ratte (29) net 70
3rd Dave Richardson (27) net 72
It was that time of the month for stroke play at the delightful Pleasant Valley for the Cafe Kronborg Monthly Mug. We had an on-time departure with a 45 minute transit to the course. Tee-off was scheduled for 1000 but we managed to get away 40 minutes early. We finished in 3 hours and 50 minutes despite playing the last three holes in the middle of a shotgun start.
The course on the day was in very good condition and there was a bunker grooming tractor working in bunkers all day.
Back in the clubhouse we said farewell to Joe Vanderwegon back to Belgium early Sunday morning.
In a repeat of Monday’s podium, Kristin Helgason took the mug for his second win this week with a fine net 67, Ronnie Ratte came second on net 70, and Dave Richardson took third with net 72.
