PSC golf from The Fairways Golf Society
Monday, Jan. 16, Khao Kheow – Stableford
I must say today we were very disappointed with the course as it was not up to its normally very good condition. There were many bare patches on the fairways and the light rough was bone dry with hardly any grass at all. Also the greens were extremely slow.
This did not seem to bother two of our golfers who both played under their handicaps by several shots. On Sodok, our only lady player today fired an excellent 39pts which would normally be enough to secure first place, but unfortunately for her Fred Land returned to form with a bang scoring 40pts off his 13 handicap. Apparently he had two putts of only about three foot that just lipped out and two blow outs on his card.

Harvey Samuals crept into third place while Phil Mitchell took fourth spot from Roy Dayton on count back 19-14.

Friday, Jan. 20, Greenwood – Stableford
Only two outings this week and this was the better one of the two, even though we just missed out on the special rate for twenty or more players (please make a note of this when you play here).
The course was in really good condition and the weather was just right for golf so there was a lot of good scores in with four golfers playing under their handicaps. Notably the old man himself (Steady Eddie) Tony Duthie came in with 39pts after returning to form following quiet a long lean spell. He was closely followed by Warren Gallop 38pts while third and fourth places 37pts were decided on count backs.
