Tuesday, Feb. 7, Mt. Shadow – Stableford
On Tuesday we went with 3 groups to the Mountain Shadow. It was lovely weather, sun and a nice breeze and the course and the greens were in good condition, so we could expect good results. And that’s exactly what we had.
After a mediocre front nine, Willem Lasonder (H/cap 22) stormed through on the home stretch with 27 points winner to tally 43 overall and take first place. Stan Rees claimed second with 38 points and in third was Patrick Devereux.
The near pins went to Martin Hayes (twice), Patrick Devereux and George Gamble.
Thursday, Feb. 9, Pleasant Valley – Stableford
Pleasant Valley was our venue on Thursday, just the name of the place promised a lovely course and it was true. Again it was a beautiful sunny day with a nice breeze.
All the conditions were set for good scores once more, but we didn’t make it. The winner today was Sam Gettinby with 34 points and we then had 3 players locked on 33 points. After a count back on the inward nine it was Patrick Devereux taking second and Jonathan Pratt third.
The near pins were claimed by Willem Lasonder, Jonathan Pratt and Jonathan Pratt.
