Laura Robson of Great Britain, who was recently voted 2012 WTA Newcomer of the Year has entered the 2013 PTT Pattaya Open. She will be joining compatriots Heather Watson and Anne Keothavong in the tournament, which will be held at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Pattaya from 27 January – 3 February.
Laura Robson who was the youngest-ever junior Wimbledon Champion at the age of 14, won the WTA award on the back of a very powerful performance in the 2nd half of the 2012 WTA season. She stormed to the brink of the top 50 after reaching the final in Guangzhou, semi-final in Palermo, quarter-final in Osaka and 4th round at the US Open. She also won a silver medal at the Olympic Games in the mixed doubles event.

Laura Robson joins a galaxy of star players who have entered the 2013 PTT Pattaya Open, which includes Former World No 1 Ana Ivanovic of Serbia, Former World No 2 Vera Zvonareva of Russia, Sabine Lisicki of Germany, Maria Kirilenko of Russia, Sorana Cirstea of Romania and Heather Watson of Great Britain.
As well as the strong line-up of international stars on parade in Pattaya, all of Thailand’s leading women’s tennis players have entered the tournament including Tammarine Tanasugarn, Luksika Kumkhum, Nudnida Luangnam, Noppawan Lertcheewakarn and Varatchaya Wongteanchai.
The 16-draw qualifying competition will be held on 27–28 January 2013, with main draw matches commencing on 28 January and play starting from 15.00 daily, excepting the semi-finals on Saturday 02 February and the finals on Sunday 03 February, when play begins at 16.00.
