Peter LeNoury was the story today as he fired an excellent 41 points for the man of the match honours and top spot in B Flight.  Peter was followed up the podium steps by Dave Boran and Ed ‘Our man in the White House’ Wyckoff, both with 39 points, and the resultant count back sorted it out favourably for Dave to take second, and Ed third.

The minor flight we saw Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw standing atop the podium with an even par round.  Again two players were left to the perils of a count back, both on 32 points, and the scales of justice fell in Aussie Nick Odnoral’s favour as he was awarded second and Peter Terry was left to close the flight.

There were two 2’s recorded and both belonged to Lou ‘Zig-zag’.

Tuesday, April 7, Bangpra – Stableford

A Flight

1st Chris Playforth (8) 34pts

2nd Terry Mangan (19) 33pts

3rd Phil Davies (14) 33pts

B Flight

1st Peter Henshaw (22) 37pts

2nd Bob Fagan (22) 33pts

3rd Paul Kruining (26) 32pts

Bangpra and the resident monkeys welcomed the Lewiinski’s mob this past Tuesday.  The course was in excellent condition with super slick greens that would need a bit of magic to garner a decent card.  This was supplied by Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw with a man of the match 37 points.  Not only was he the only player to better his handicap but he made it two wins on the trot.

Bob Fagan followed Peter up the podium steps with a non-threatening 33 points to leave Paul Kruining to close the flight with another 33.

The senior flight found the greens a little too slick as Chris Playforth needed just 34 points for the win.  Terry ‘pork chop’ Mangan took the silver spot on a count back over Phil ‘the Welsh wonder’ Davies, both locked on 33 points.

Wednesday, April 8, Silky Oak – Stableford

1st Bob Stokes (15) 34pts

2nd Bob Fagan (22) 32pts

Once again the course and the conditions turned what promised to be a fine day into a bit of a nightmare for the field as no player played to par at Silky Oak.  Bob Stokes took the day’s honours and top spot in the single flight with a modest 34 points.  This left Bob Fagan to tidy up the podium with 32.

Friday, April 10, Phoenix – Stableford

1st Sara Broderick (19) 41pts

2nd Peter Henshaw (22) 39pts

3rd Peter Blackburne (16) 38pts

4th Jim Elphick (24) 36pts

As usual the course was in great shape and with benign conditions it was to be expected that the scores would be very good.  As it was, Phoenix did give up some of its bite and the Lewiinski’s boys and girls enjoyed a super day’s golf.

Sara Broderick led the field into the barn with a best on the day 41 points and although Sara is not a member the rule as been changed and she was allowed to keep the first prize.  Following Sara up the podium steps two shots in arrears was the man on fire, Peter ‘the silver surfer’ Henshaw for his third pay window visit of the week.  Peter Blackburne lifted the bronze a further shot back and Jimmy ‘two shots’ Elphick used all his guile and treachery to edge Rita Zobeli off the podium steps in a count back, both on even par rounds.
