Monday brought 23 competitors for the Growling Swan’s venture to Khao Kheow, a favorite of many golfers in Pattaya. The weather was sultry and the course was in terrific condition as you would expect.
We played B and C Nines in that order and spent a major part of the day hitting into what you could call a stiff breeze. Apart from that, fairways were good and the greens played true.
The top flight saw Mashi Kaneta take the honors with a very good 35 points followed in 2 point intervals by Mark Pearson and Bill Steinmann, the latter who kept Denis Steele at bay via the count-back system.
‘The Viper’ Mark Stapleton knocked out a sure fire 36 points to win B flight saw him head off the challenges of Sean Millar and James Wilks.

We had 27 eager golfers waiting to take on the ever-popular Greenwood. We arrived early to our tee time and the course was in great shape. We played C & A nines from the yellow tees and found the greens were unbelievable fast on the front nine and somewhat slower on the back nine.
A flight saw ‘Buffalo’ Bill Steinmann take out first spot with a very good score of 39 points. Second went to Mike Johns on a count-back from Mashi Kaneta, with Craig Duncan filling third spot on the podium.
JC Lhoste returned a massive 42 points to win B Flight with Roger Ellis taking the silver 5 points back. Gary Jones filled third spot and one shot away was Shane Young in fourth.
