PSC golf from The Billabong Golf Bar

Monday, Feb. 10, Silky Oak – Stableford

Silky Oak was our venue for golf today and the course was in grand condition although the greens were a bit tricky.  We played from the white markers so as not to make it too hard for the older golfers to get over the numerous water carries, which are quite long on some holes.

With two different tee times, owing to the course being busy, it was up to Cottee and Eng to run the show from the 7.20 first tee time, then George Barrie looked after the other three groups teeing off at 8.25.  My thanks to you both for doing such a great job!

The scores were quite good with John Locke taking third spot on 34 points ahead of Noddy Moyle in fourth on count back.  Second place went to Liz Collier with 35 points and coming in first was Neil Carter with 36.

There was only one ‘2’ today, coming from Noddy Moyle.

Friday, Feb. 14, Plutaluang – Stableford

A very slow but enjoyable day out at Plutaluang golf course today with the five groups taking five and a bit hours to get around, but nobody was complaining at the watering holes.

Rosco hadn’t played this course for a number of years and was surprised at the condition.  We played West and North, which in my opinion are two of the best trials of golf around the area and it reflected in the scoring with two thirds of the field scoring under 29 points.

Fourth place today went to John Player and the three above him were knotted together on 34 points.  The subsequent count back saw John Locke take first place ahead of Chaten Patel and Noddy Moyle in that order.

There were two ‘2’s today, coming from Paul Greenaway and Bill Marsden.
