PSC golf from Siam Country Resort
Tuesday, Feb. 4, Pattana – Stableford
First off last week, we visited Pattana on Tuesday where we played the C & A combination. At a length of 6742 yards from the white tees and a Par of 73, this is amongst the longest courses we play. Pattana Golf Club is certainly a 1st class operation and leaves some of the self-professed top line courses in the rear view mirror. The course was playing shorter than the card as several tees were forward, one par 5 being reduced to a moderate par 4 at best.
On this day it was Bob Edwards (8) who led the way on 35 points, just getting the better of Paddy Devereux (23) on count back 20/19. Bob also scooped the Par 3s, to reinforce his form of the day.
Thursday, Feb. 6, Greenwood – Stableford
Greenwood was the venue for Thursday’s trip, with the A & B courses being our allotted test of the day. With the course at just under 6500 yards, fairways firm & fast, with the greens running true, the day showed potential.

The weather co-operated, with a light breeze and enough cloud cover to keep the sun off, so really an ideal day for golf. The only thing missing was some hot scoring, with the best of the day being a somewhat mediocre 33 points from Jeff Wylie (7), while playing partner Jim Federspiel (18) will be even more surprised to see his name in the winner’s list after posting 30 points for second. Jeff & Neil shared the near pins today.
Note: Siam Country Resort, Restaurant & Bar is located just off Siam Country Club Rd, after going under the arch past the 7/11, turn right after 50 metres, with the venue on the left another 200 metres along. Golf from here is generally played on Tuesday & Thursday, with the Resort hosting prompt presentations on both days.
