Monday, May 2, Khao Kheow – Stableford

Quiet a good turn out today as it was a bank holiday.  As usual the course was in excellent condition and the weather was fine.

Two players shot sub-par scores with 37 points and Ed Wycliffe took the top honours with a back nine count back of 21-17 over Richard Hurley.

Near pins went to Alan Pilkington, Billy Vickers, Scott Dobbin and Ed Wycliffe.

1st Ed Wycliffe (9) 37pts

2nd Richard Hurley (11) 37pts

3rd Jon Haugen (6) 34pts

Wednesday, May 4, Pleasant Valley – Stableford

We arrived at the course today and found it virtually empty so we had very nice leisurely round of golf with no hold ups.  Unfortunately all the bunkers had hardly any sand in them as it had all been washed away by the heavy rains they have had up here.  The greens were a little bit on the slow side for the same reason but the fairways were in excellent shape.

Friday’s top three, Scott Dobbin, Alan Pilkington and Dave Done with Fairways club house staff. Friday’s top three, Scott Dobbin, Alan Pilkington and Dave Done with Fairways club house staff.

Only one golfer managed to break par (Mr. Consistency) Brian Maddox with 37 points.  Richard Hurley just missed a four foot eagle putt but made sure of his birdie and snatched second place from Tony Duthieon on the last green to beat him on a back nine count back of 18-15.

Near pins went to Tony Duthie and Richard Hurley.

1st Brian Maddox (20) 37pts

2nd Richard Hurley (11) 33pts

3rd Tony Duthie (19) 33pts

Friday, May 6, Greenwood – Stableford

When we arrived we were informed that golf carts could not go on the fairways as they had had so much rain the day before, so we decided to play winter rules of ‘pick clean and place’.  Shortly after we started we found that it was totally unnecessary to do so as the course was in its normal magnificent condition.

Again we had the course to ourselves so we had a nice clear round.  Scott Dobbin returned to form to take the honours from the consistent Alan Pilkington.

Near pins went to Alan Pilkington, Dave Done, Peter Anderson and Richard Hurley.

1st Scott Dobbin (0) 37pts

2nd Alan Pilkington (7) 36pts

3rd Dave Done (15) 34pts
