The Golf Club weekly review

Monday, Oct. 31, Green Valley – Stableford

Green Valley is in great shape again and the lads had a perfect round of golf.  Visiting Terry Pettitt carved 39 points out there today, usually enough for the win but today a couple of guys had other ideas.

Andy Makara knows the course well and his round of 40 points was a great one.  Mark Wood continued his consistently fine golf with a very impressive 42 to take the win.

Wednesday, Nov 2, Pattavia Century – Stableford

A couple of ties headlined the scoring today so let’s start with the tie for third.  Scotsman Mark Wood turned in another fine round of 36 to tie with last month’s medal winner Zed Belogavec.

Up another rung on the ladder was Capt. Phil with 38 points, his best in a while, and another 38 was recorded by Frank Tordeur as the two of them shared the win.

Friday, Nov. 4, Silky Oaks – Stableford

This is an interesting golf course and has 2 of the most talked about par-3’s in town, one straight up hill and the other just an 85 yard target that has trouble on both sides. For me, the elevation changes add to the pleasure and challenge. On to the scoring.

Tied at third were Aussie Gary Emmett and visiting us from the USA, Don Calais on 35 points each.  Wednesday’s winner Frank Tordeur had another good session and 36 got him to second place. The winner’s award went to Bob Mulholland with a very handy 39 points (as well as the near pin) to seal a conclusive victory.
