The two wheel trek had two starting points; the first led the main group from the Pattaya Floating market through Jomtien and into Pattaya via the third road, ending at Soi 4. The second group set off from Soi 4 Beach Road for a short cycle ride down to Walking Street. It is estimated some 200 cyclists took part in the event.
The bike ride was staged in a bid to raise awareness of the health benefits of using the bicycle which, in the place of a motor vehicle, can also contribute to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere.
