Wednesday, August 2, Silky Oak – Stableford

Green Valley was not available again this week so off we went to Silky Oak.  Something extraordinary occurred today which we will never forget – but more of that later.

Jeff North occupied third place with 37 points, while Auke Engelkes was three points more to the good in second spot.  But Ted Gardner secured the honours today with a fine round of 41 points that included 3 birdies.

In the ladies flight, Miss Som lost out to Miss Karen on 38 points for third while Miss Pin took second place with 39, but would you believe she missed winning the day by 15 points!  Miss May, playing off her 18 PSC handicap, had 3 birdies, 3 bogeys and 16 pars to record an incredible 54 points – 72 gross and 54 net.  “I was just lucky today”, she said.  It was certainly a day and performance that Miss May and most of us will remember for many years.

Friday, August 4, Burapha – Stableford

Burapha C & D loops today and they were in great condition.  With just 4 groups playing we got away in good time with just a light breeze to keep the heat away.

We had a count back for top spot between Damian Trant and John Anderson, both on 38 points but with Damian just edging it.  Gary Ritchie took third place with 37 points.

There was only one 2, coming from Jim Brackett.
