PSC golf from The Golf Club Sports Bar
Monday, July 4, Green Valley – Stableford
1st Mick Beresford (21) 40pts
2nd Grant Cadell (17) 39pts
3rd Sonny Crawford (9) 35pts
4th Don Bland (5) 35pts
Mick Beresford has finally put a full 18 holes together and come out on top. This is welcome news to ‘Seamless’ who usually gets him for a partner, only watching in disbelief as he usually plays out in 9 and back in 17. Not today, a brilliant 20/20 was on the card.
Grant Cadell has also been suffering the Beresford curse of late but managed to keep it together over 18 and had a fine 39 points for second. Sonny Crawford, fresh from the airport, was third on 35 points, edging out Don Bland with a B9-18 to Don’s B9-17.
Wednesday, July 6, Bangpra – Stableford
1st Brad Sproxton (13) 37pts
2nd Simon Spaulding (1) 33pts
3rd Paul Smith (1) 32pts
The greens at Bangpra lived up to their billing today – firm and slick – and there was many a man putting lengthy distances back at the hole. I even witnessed 3 go off the green on their first attempts which even had the monkey’s staring in disbelief.
Brad Sproxton (2nd right) celebrates his win at Bangpra on Wednesday with the staff at The Golf Club.
Brad Sproxton stuck to his game plan of leaving the approach shot below the hole. The result was the day’s top score of 37 points. Simon Spaulding, playing his 21st day in a row, was second with 33 points and he also managed the only ‘2’ on the day. There were no less than 5 tied on 32 points, with Paul Smith edging Brian Holden, Nick Handscombe, Steve Ellison, and Sugar Ray Handford.
It will interesting to see the scores when we return to Bangpra on Wed July 27th for our Monthly Medal Comp. Thanks to all that turned out this week.
