The Backyard Golf Society
Well, it looks as if the high season, with its 5-hour rounds, is behind us with a return to the normal 3-1/2 hour round for the Backyard lads at Emerald last Friday. What a joy it is to not have to wait on every shot on every hole. It also helped that some of our slower lads decided to go play with Slimey’s instead!
The Emerald course has dried out alarmingly over the last few weeks and in fact the greens are in need of a good watering already.
The big winner today was Mr. Quiet, again. The hot back 9 conditions made it tough going for all with only 2 players scoring over 31 points in fact. The near-pin was won by Irish John while the skins were well shared out with 7 to Mr. Quiet, 6 to The Impregnator, 3 to Irish John and singles to Stitches Morgan and Mickey the Yak.
We had a new player out for the first time today, with Tim “Hake, Rattle and Roll” making a brief visit from Khao Yai.
