The Thai government has included ‘Muay Thai’, or Thai boxing, as one of the crucial forms of soft power in the Soft Power Master Plan to promote tourism industries. It is aimed at promoting Thai boxing as a martial arts sport at the international level.
Activities to be held under the project include Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in the competition program of the “Legend Fighting Championship” in Nakhon Ratchasima province; “Flash Mob Muay Thai” at Paragon Shopping Mall; an MOU to support Muay Thai in academic institutes; and programs to boost Muay Thai overseas, such as Muay Thai demonstrations, basic Muay Thai teaching, and online shopping for Muay Thai equipment.
