The Naval Ordnance Department won the royal trophy at the Sattahip Naval Station’s internal sports competition.
Vice Adm. Wipak Noyjinda handed out the prizes at the Aug. 19 closing ceremony for the Aug. 5-19 games at the naval base’s football stadium.
Sports featured in the two-week competition included golf and volleyball, with a group comprised of the Sattahip Port Authority, Department of Construction and Development and Navy Sports teams winning.
Snooker and badminton were won by Group 2, which was made up the Factory Department and the Office of Maintenance Supervisors.
The billiards and petanque were won by Group 1, which included Command Headquarters, Special Affairs Division, Real Estate Division, Communication Headquarters, prison officials, Welfare Concessions Department and the Welfare Department.

The open futsal match was won by Group 2 and the Sattahip Naval Base Invitation Senior Football Cup was won by the Naval Ordnance team, which received a royal trophy.
Wipak congratulated everybody and thanked all organizing committees involved. The sporting activities turned out to be a great success and it wasn’t all about winning or losing.
All members did their best, cooperated and showed great sportsmanship. The most important thing about sports is the fun, keeping healthy and doing recreational activities during while having spare time, he said.
